Choi Woo Sik is considered to be one of 2014’s breakout stars. He won an Actor of the Year award at the Busan Film Festival for his appearance in the coming-of-age indie film “Set Me Free.”

And he is no stranger to dramaland, with two small screen roles to his credit this year. After playing Jang Hyuk’s half-brother in the comedy “Fated To Love You” he took the role of a half-hearted prosecutor in the legal thriller “Pride and Prejudice.”

His next role will be playing Kang Ho Goo, a webtoon writer’s assistant in the upcoming drama “A Pushover’s Romance,” also known as “Fool’s Love.” The 24-year-old actor plays one of the drama’s four main characters.

Singer-actress Uee and SS501 member Park Jung Min will play two of the other three characters. The fourth leading part has still not yet been cast.

Cho Woo Sik’s character in “A Pushover Romance” is a man with no real experience in relationships.

Uee, last seen in the weekend drama “Golden Rainbow” with Jung Il Woo, will play Do Do Hee. She is Kang Ho Goo’s first love and she’s also a member of the national swim team. She is so admired that her fans describeher as a “swimming goddess.”

Singer-actor Park Jung Min, last seen in the Taiwanese drama “Fondant Garden,” will play Byun Kang Chul, a cool and remote character.

The only leading role that has yet to be cast is that of UEE’s fraternal twin sister.

“A Pushover’s Romance” is based on the webtoon “Fool’s Love” written by Yoo Hyun Sook. If a character that is a webtoon writer in a drama based on a webtoon reminds you of the 2013 romantic comedyFlower Boys Next Door,” that’s not a coincidence. Yoon Hyun Sook also wrote the webtoon that “Flower Boys Next Door” was based on.

And the drama’s production, direction and writing team has some impressive credits. The drama’s producers previously worked on another rom-com k-drama favorite, “Flower Boy Ramen Shop.”

Pyo Min Soo, who previously directed “Full House,” “Worlds Within,” “Iris 2″ and “Heartstrings” will direct “A Pushover’s Romance.” Yoon Nam Joong, who wrote the KBS drama “God of the Workplace,” is the screenwriter.

The drama will replace “Valid Love,” also known as “Sensible Love, which stars Uhm Tae Woong, Lee Si Young and lee Soo Hyuk.

The first episode of “A Pushover’s Romance” is set to air on Feb. 9.
